Bike: Merida Matts 40MD with the following upgrades
- Mechanical lockout fork upgraded to SR Suntour XCM with hydraulic lockout
- Mechanical disc brakes upgraded to Tektro Auriga hydraulic disc brakes
- Drivetrain upgraded to 9 speed Alivio from 8 speed Alivio
The bike has proved to be bombproof for all my expeditions and trail riding in the mountains. So far, I’ve stayed in hotels on all my bike packing trips, so I haven’t had the need to carry a tent and sleeping bag. That is something I’m keen on experiencing, hopefully soon 🙂
